Sandeep Kumar Nayak | Disability - Person with Locomotor | Jharkhand - India

Guardian of Roots

The Story behind the Shot:

Sandeep Nayak, from a rural area, captures stories and dreams in every photograph he takes. Using a Canon 750D, he highlights moments of hope, tradition, and purity — from a tribal boy with “my time will come” on his shirt, to a grandmother protecting her roots, to the hopeful eyes of an elderly woman, and the spontaneous smile of rural children. One of his images, Tribal Angel, shows a young girl ready to embrace new dreams. For Sandeep, photography is a way to share life’s essence with the world. He feels grateful to platforms like the Global Ability Photography Challenge and Youth4Jobs for giving people with disabilities the opportunity to showcase their talent and gain independence.
